Baseball Spring Training Opportunity for Youngsters
The Edge Sports Training organized a spring training baseball tryout preparation program. The program is open to Rookie/Mosquito and Peewee/Bantam players. Certified coaches and players from the PEI Senior Team and KCBL will develop players batting, pitching, catching, fielding, and all other aspects of the game. |

EBA to Host Baseball Clinics for 10-12yr olds!
Eastern Baseball Academy will be holding a series of clinics for 10-12yr old players leading up to the 2011 baseball season, which will cover every facet of the game of baseball! These clinics are going to get players developing a stronger more consistent skill set with better technique, while increasing their ability to play the game of baseball as they get to learn different movement patterns and basic skills which will significantly improve their game on the field and increase their confidence on and off the diamond.

Eastern Baseball Academy
CATCHERS BOOTCAMP NOW AVAILABLE!!
I think we all agree that catching is one of the most grueling positions in sports... Eastern Baseball Academy has come up with a Catchers Bootcamp that will push players past their limits and expectations, while making the position a little easier to handle when you get behind the plate come May!!
This Catchers Bootcamp will involve catching specific strength and conditioning along with functional drills to improve every player and make them feel more in control of the game and help them provide more direction and execution in the critical moments of a game when the catcher is most relied on.
This One of a kind Catching Bootcamp will bring out the best in our catchers as they sweat and grind through the process to becoming a successful catcher, and upgrading their defensive skills relating to:
learning what their responsibility is on the field
proper receiving techniques
proper stances and setup behind the plate
realizing how important footwork is
how to tackle the all mighty bunt play
and learning to become a defensive wall behind the plate and giving themselves a better chance to throw out more runners throughout the season!
Players are recommended to bring 2 shirts for this workout!!
PITCHERS BOOTCAMP NOW AVAILABLE!!
This "one of a kind" Pitchers Bootcamp will provide the player ways to maintain arm strength and how to prevent injuries throughout their career. Pitching philosophies will also be discussed as the player will learn how the body works during the delivery and how to provide efficient mechanics to help provide stamina and power while increasing velocity.
Topics for the Pitchers Bootcamp will include:
delivery mechanics and how to control the delivery
role as a pitcher
how to develop power
Learn how to engage the entire body for mechanical efficiency
There will also be discussion and execution on defensive know how and what the pitchers role has to be as the 6th fielder:
covering 1st
bunt plays and the role of the pitcher
pick offs and how to slow the run game
This is gonna be one camp you don't want to miss!!

Baseball PEI Awards Night - RESCHEDULED due to STORM - Next Wednesday Feb 24th
Baseball PEI will be holding their annual Awards Night on Wednesday February 24th at the Rodd Royalty Inn, Charlottetown. The evening will start at 7:00 pm and will include a number of awards based on the 2009 season. The awards night will include ADL/Sport PEI Certificates of Achievement, and two Baseball Canada awards. The night will also include a meal and a special guest speaker. Due to meal arrangements, everyone is asked to RSVP with Baseball PEI by 9:00am Monday 22nd. |

Baseball PEI Fall Identification Camps
Baseball PEI will be holding fall identification camps for all players who played Bantam baseball or first year Midget this season, in preparation for next year's Canada Cup Championship being held in Ontario. The third Youth Select Identification Camp will be held on Sunday, October 11th from 10:00-12:00 at Kowalski Field in Lower Freetown (Bedeque).
