Led by Connor Myers from Peakes, PE, the PEI 18U All-Stars are looking to surprise some people at the 2019 Baseball Canada National 18U Championships in London, ON, from 15 – 18 August.

Myers, who was an assistant coach with the Provincial 15Us in 2017 and 2018, is the head coach for the first time at a National Championship. However, he has lots of experience as he was on a coaching staff before, plus has played at several National Championships. His coaching staff includes Rob Phelan, Stephen O’Shea and Kevin MacLean.

The 18U All-Stars are made up of some of the top players in the Baseball PEI 18U “AA” league and go into this National Championship as a dark horse. Many other provinces know little about this group, led by the likes of Chase Gaudette, Isaac Compton, Liam Laybolt and others, but this is a solid team that will play with tenacity and grit. They are looking to surprise many people and will have to play hard to earn a spot in any playoff games, as they will take on BC, Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Alberta in the round-robin. Seven players on this team also played with the PEI Youth Selects at the 2019 BIGS Seeds Baseball Canada Cup in Regina, SK this past weekend.

The round-robin for the 18U All-Stars begins this Thursday, 15 August versus British Columbia at 3:30 ADT. The schedule can be found at
