Rob McCormack – who has already won the 2019 Baseball PEI Coach of the Year and Baseball Canada’s 2019 Lionel Ruhr Elite Coach of the Year Awards – has been named Sport PEI’s 2019 PEI Mutual Insurance Coach of the Year. This is on the back of a fantastic 2019 for McCormack, who led the Provincial 15U team to Bronze at the 2019 Baseball Canada Ray Carter Cup and the Summerside 15U “AAA” Chevys to the Tanner Craswell Memorial Trophy as Provincial 15U “AAA” Champions.

Kevin McKenna – who as already won the 2019 Baseball PEI Volunteer Administrator of the Year and the 2019 Baseball Canada/Major League Baseball Volunteer of the Year – has been named Sport PEI’s 2019 ADL Administrator of the Year. This award comes due to McKenna’s tireless work, over twenty-odd years, with the Bedeque and Area Minor Baseball Association and the PEI Baseball Umpires Association.

Finally, Morell’s Cole MacLaren has been named as a finalist for Sport PEI’s 2019 Synergy Fitness and Nutrition Intercollegiate Male Athlete of the Year (along with Kameron Kielly – hockey – and Ligrit Sadiku – wrestling). MacLaren had a fantastic 2019 with the University of Pittsburgh Panthers (NCAA; Division I), starting every game behind the plate as a catcher and displaying terrific defence, along with hitting .247 and recording an on-base percentage of .403. MacLaren’s excellent year helped earn him a professional contract with the Detroit Tigers organization.
