2020 Baseball PEI Awards - Presented by ADL and Sport PEI

Kalib Snow is a busy young man. The 17-year-old Summerside native is a very good hockey and baseball player (he played with the Summerside 18U “AA” Chevys in 2020), a valued employee of the Summerside Area Baseball Association, and a top junior umpire on Prince Edward Island. Despite being only 17, Snow was a High-Performance umpire in 2020, doing games at high levels on PEI. It is not difficult to understand why Kalib is so highly regarded in umpiring circles on PEI. He carries himself with a terrific presence on the ballfield; he takes his role very seriously but is friendly and a great communicator with players and coaches. Snow’s knowledge of the rules is excellent and his attention to detail – facets of umpiring like positioning – is impressive. He hustles and works hard in every game and it is apparent to all taking part in the game. While he has been umpiring for a few years now, the continual progression and improvement that Kalib Snow demonstrates each year is a testament to his attitude and hard work. It is clear that in very short order Kalib will be one of the top umpires on PEI, and Baseball PEI is pleased to announce that Kalib Snow is the 2020 Baseball PEI Junior Umpire of the Year, presented by ADL and Sport PEI!
