Baseball PEI is pleased to announce that former American League Rookie of the Year Jason Dickson will be conducting a pitching camp on PEI, on Friday, May 8, 2015, and Saturday, May 9, 2015.
The clinic will run from 6 - 9 pm on Friday, May 8 and from 9 am - 4 pm on Saturday May 9 at the Holland College Gymnasium. Dickson was an American League all-star in 1997. The ten year pro had a 4.29 ERA in his rookie year and pitched for four seasons with the Angels. Dickson pitched for Canada's Olympic team in 2004. He returned to his home area in Chatham NB and pitched with the Chatham Ironmen where he had a 2.04 ERA and has since gained a reputation as an excellent instructor. A former director with Sport New Brunswick, Dickson is now an Executive member with Baseball Canada.
The clinic will have Dickson focus on pitching fundamentals to gain power and control on the mound, learning how to pitch to different hitters and how to create a presence on the mound conducive to a winning attitude and success. A combination of classroom and gym sessions with players and coaches will greatly assist PEI pitchers and coaches in their off-season development.
This clinic is for players Peewee-aged and higher (12 years old +). The cost for participants is $20 and players/coaches can register through Baseball PEI, 40 Enman Crescent, Charlottetown, C1E 1E6, 902-368-4203. Registration is limited to 20 players and 20 coaches.
