Baseball PEI is pleased to announce that it has joined in partnership with the Canadian Girls Baseball organization to bring PEI Girls Baseball to Prince Edward Island in 2019.

Canadian Girls Baseball is a not-for-profit organization with chapters in Toronto (Toronto Girls Baseball), Manitoba (Manitoba Girls Baseball), Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia Girls Baseball), and starting in 2019, PEI. It is all-girls baseball programming for girls between the ages of 4- to 12-years-old. They meet once-a-week for eight weeks during the summer. For younger players, they go for one hour. For older players, they spend 30 minutes working on skills and drills and 75 minutes on games. All coaches are women, and they also work on building areas like confidence and self-esteem. Each girl that registers received a uniform (hat, jersey and pants), water bottle, Rawlings baseball bag, bat, ball, and a personalized baseball card and medal.

“Baseball PEI is very excited to partner with Canadian Girls Baseball to create PEI Girls Baseball and bring it to Prince Edward Island in 2019,” says Randy Byrne, Executive Director of Baseball PEI.

“PEI Girls Baseball will be members of Baseball PEI, and we are really happy that grassroots baseball programming for exclusively girls will now be offered on PEI. Canadian Girls Baseball has quickly earned a reputation for providing quality programming that has enticed girls, who often have been tentative to play sports – especially on teams primarily made up of boys – and haven’t played anything at all, to try, play and learn to love baseball. With all-female coaches and instructors, they provide role models in baseball for the young girls.”

“We are extremely excited to expand to PEI!” according to Dana Brookman, CEO of Canadian Girls Baseball.

“It was an area we were looking to expand into, and we are so happy Baseball PEI has partnered with us to create PEI Girls Baseball.”

More information on Canadian Girls Baseball can be found at Tentative plans are to launch programs in the greater Charlottetown area and in Summerside. Girls can register now at (Charlottetown program) and (Summerside program).
