Cardigan Ball Registration Dates

 

Cardigan Minor Ball is set to begin the 2018 season. We will be having 2 registration dates. Wednesday April 18 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday April 21 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Registration forms will be available on site but to speed up the process, feel free to print and complete the forms ahead of time.

Registration fees for the 2018 season will be:
T-Ball - $50.00
All other Players - $125.00
Family Rate - $250.00

Cash will be accepted on site during Registration.
Cheques can be made payable to "Cardigan Minor Ball Association".
E-Transfers are also available.

Receipts will be provided.


Cardigan Baseball Seeking Volunteer Coaches

The 2018 Baseball season will soon be upon us and we are now actively searching for volunteer coaches. Baseball continues to grow in Eastern PEI and it is exciting to be a part of this journey.

We hope to be fielding teams in the following divisions:

  • Jr. Mosquito
  • Mosquito A
  • Mosquito AA
  • PeeWee A
  • Pee Wee AA
  • Bantam A
  • Bantam AA
  • Midget A
  • Midget AA

If you have an interest in being a part of our volunteer coaching team please email Lisa MacKenzie (lisamack74@hotmal.com) or Kris O'Brien (cardiganbaseball@gmail.com). 

All Coaches will be required to obtain the appropriate level of coaching certification based on the team you will be coaching. More information available at the NCCP Baseball website (https://nccp.baseball.ca/)

We also require all coaches to have a current Criminal Record Check completed. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. 


Umpires Clinic


There will be an Umpire Clinic in Cardigan Saturday May 12th, 2018 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Indoor portion will be held in the basement of All Saints Parish. The outdoor portion will be held across the road at the Baseball Complex. This is for Level 1 and Level 2 Umpires.

Eastern PEI Baseball Region now accepting applications for AAA Coaches for the 2018 Season.

The “Eastern PEI Baseball Region” is now accepting applications for the Head Coach position of the AAA Mosquito (11U), AAA Pee Wee (13U) and AAA Bantam (15U) baseball teams for the 2018 season.

The Eastern Baseball Region consists of the Stratford, Northside, Cardigan, and Souris Baseball Associations. It is the intention of the Associations to field one competitive AAA team in each division this season. Games and practices will be spread throughout the region whenever possible.

Please submit your application/email for the Head Coach Position to easternpeibaseball@gmail.com. Please indicate which team you are interested in coaching as well. The Assistant Coaches will be selected after the Head Coach is chosen. If you would also be interested in an Assistant Coach position, please indicate that on your application.

The successful applicants will be required to obtain Certification through the National Coaching Certification Program that meets the minimum requirements for the applicable AAA age level. Certification must be completed prior to the team taking part in any Provincial Elimination and/or Provincial Championship tournaments.  More information on the NCCP Coaching certification can be found at https://nccp.baseball.ca/.

Please indicate any relevant experience on your application/email as to why you would be the right choice for the coaching position.

Application/email submission closes at midnight on, March 23rd, 2018. We will be selecting the Head Coaches by April 1st,, 2018. ID Camps and on field tryouts will begin as soon as coaches are selected and the fields/facilities become available. The Eastern Baseball Region committee reserves the right to repost any or all position(s) again should no suitable coaches be found.

2019 Provincial 13Us Announce Times for First Four Tryouts

The tryouts for the 2019 Provincial 13U team – representing Baseball PEI at the 2019 Baseball Canada National 13U Championships in Repentigny, QC from 22-25 August – will be beginning at the end of the month.

Led by head coach Bob Doyle, and his staff including Dave Benton, Jason Doyle and Patrick Young, the Provincial 13Us are looking to continue on Baseball PEI’s positive showing at the National 13U Championships, where the Provincial 13Us in 2018 finished in 7th place.

Tryout schedule:

  • Sunday, 31 March from 5:30 pm – 7 pm (Norton-Diamond Indoor Soccer Complex, Stratford)
  • Sunday, 7 April from 5:30 pm – 7 pm (Norton-Diamond Indoor Soccer Complex, Stratford)
  • Monday, 8 April from 6 pm – 7:30 pm (EBA Facility, 85 Maple Hills Avenue, Charlottetown)
  • Sunday, 14 April from 5:30 pm – 7 pm (Norton-Diamond Indoor Soccer Complex, Stratford)

Cost is $60 for the four tryouts. There will be no cuts made until after the fourth tryout.

Baseball PEI is looking for applications for the position of chef-de-mission for our 2019 teams representing Baseball PEI at the following Baseball Canada National Championships. We will require a chef-de-mission at the following National Championships:

  • Baseball Canada Cup (Regina, SK: 7 – 12 August 2019)
  • Baseball Canada National 18U Championships (London, ON: 15 – 19 August 2019)
  • Baseball Canada National 13U Championships (Woodstock, ON: 22 – 26 August 2019)
  • Ray Carter Cup (Baseball Canada National 15U Championships; Oshawa, ON: 22 – 26 August 2019)
  • Baseball Canada National 16U Girls Championships (Bedford, NS: 22 – 26 August 2019)
  • (Two) Baseball Canada National Atlantic 13U Championships (Nova Scotia: 12 – 15 September 2019)

Baseball PEI Has Joined in Partnership with the ABA Blue Wave

Baseball PEI is pleased to announce that it has signed a deal with the newly-formed Atlantic Baseball Academy – the “Blue Wave” – so that the Atlantic Baseball Academy will be the official baseball academy partner of Baseball PEI, effective immediately.

Led by Andrew MacNevin and J.P. Stevenson, the Atlantic Baseball Academy will be based out of the Norton-Diamond Indoor Soccer Complex in Stratford. The Blue Wave will feature an impressive list of instructors on top of MacNevin and Stevenson, including:

  • Connor Myers
  • Matt Barlow
  • Jordan Stevenson
  • Jordan Duffy
  • Andrew Macdonald

“Baseball PEI is very excited to partner with the Blue Wave,” says Randy Byrne, Baseball PEI Executive Director.
